What do you love most about your horse? What i love most about my horse is our progress together, I've had Fling since he was a yearling, he has taught me many things such as love, consistency and most of all patience while working with horses. Watching our growth together has really inspired me to continue bringing on young horses. While working with Fling as a young horse you have to take the bad days with the good and start everyday as fresh beginning, I have learnt that you cannot be suck on a bad day from the day before as it can effect both you and your horses process together.
Funny habits, how does your horse make you smile? Ever since Fling was a 2-year-old doing up his rugs he would always push you into his neck, kinda like he was hugging you (would truly make you happy if you were having a bad day).
What do you love most about horses? I love the bond you and a horse can create, A bond so unbreakable they put there total trust within you. I love coming home from school and going to see my horses, the smell of them somehow makes all the bad things go away. I love seeing how kind there eyes are, It's just so fascinating how these animals put so much trust in us it's like we become one. I love working with not perfect horses, feeling accomplished when you move forward a step, the patience waiting for them to give you there trust and when they finally do how it makes you feel is a feeling like no other.
Do you have an idol in the Equine World? Yes i do, Georgia Hope. Georgia in an amazing example of who i strive to be in the equine world, she has taught me so much and continues to teach me. For those who don't know Georgia she is a bubbly, passionate and inspiring horse rider, She is both friendly inside and outside the ring and is always willing to help others. I couldn't ask for a better idol.
Who is your biggest supporter? My biggest supporter would have to be my Mum, She has been my number one fan since day dot. I wouldn't be in the place i am without her help and encouragement to continue with my dreams. She has taught me to take in every bit of advice you are given as you cannot stop learning. She also takes me to all my events, we travel all over NSW competing i couldn't have asked for a better travel buddy and Mum.
Describe your favourite horse memory? One of my many favourite horse memories would be when my horses were 2-year-olds i would sit down in there paddock and they would lay down next to me, i honestly could spend hours siting there.
What are your ambitions or dreams with your current horses? My dreams at the moment would be to keep working hard for my up coming competitions, During September, October and November are my main competitions such as ASH youth nations, All my ASH branch shows, Campdrafts and i have been selected to compete at Equitana 2021 i also have ASH Open nationals in April. I would love to secede in all these events and to keep challenging myself so i keep improving.
Where do you see yourself riding in 5 years? In 5 years time i would love to be starting an equine performance horse stud. It has always been a dream to start up my own stud breeding my own horses, training and selling on stock horses. I wouldn't mind giving riding instructions as well.
Why do you want to be part of the Barastoc Junior Squad? I want to be part of the Barastoc Junior Squad as i love new opportunities and to try new things. Being a member of the Barastoc junior squad i want to improve my riding skills and to continue learning new things. I put 110% into my horses to get quality results and i would love to meet new people who are involved in the equine world and love horses just as much as i do.
How do you think being a member of the Barastoc Junior Squad will help your riding? Being a member of the Barastoc Junior Squad will help my riding due to the support of Barastoc and the squad members. I know my horses will be in top shape using Barastoc products and I will be able to concentrate on my riding and further education for both myself and my horses. Riding is often thought of as an individual sport but its not it is a Team Sport and the main team is the rider and the horse being a member of the Barastoc Squad enhances and grows the team environment with support and great products.
Which Barastoc Ambassador would you most like to meet? I would love to meet Kurt & Erica Hanrahan but being able to meet all of them would be pretty cool as well.
Have you fed Barastoc to your horses in the past? If so, what products did you use? Yes we use Barastoc products such as Barastoc command, barastoc calm performer, barastoc supreme and barastoc speedibeet. One of our horses use Barastoc speedibeet as he has gut issues and is intolerant to grains and rich feeds.
