Barastoc is part of Ridley Corporation. We are a proudly Australian-owned company, with three horse-feed mills at key regional locations in Pakenham, Tamworth and Toowoomba. We have been part of the Australian equine industry for over 50 years, formulating and manufacturing quality horse feed for commercial operations nationwide. Quality is always our first consideration. Our Specialised Equine team marks our investment in quality and our commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and nutrition science.
Sourcing Ingredients
Every product we sell is backed by our investment in a dedicated team of qualified animal nutritionists who are recognized as leaders in their respective fields, and have over 75 years of combined experience in formulating animal feeds.
All our ingredients are sourced by a professional group of buyers who source grain, ingredients and other raw materials from Australian farmers. These ingredients are then subjected to regular testing of grains, materials and ingredients to meet our exacting standards.
It is our Research and Development (R&D) that keeps us at the forefront of new trends in animal nutrition and science.
International expertise
From its headquarters in Central Kentucky with a base in Melbourne, Australia, KER conducts extensive research designed to improve the health and wellbeing of horses by targeting specific problems, and finding nutritional solutions. From improving performance, targeting metabolic and obesity issues, and preventing performance-reducing disease, KER’s research spans all areas of the horse industry. By working so closely with KER in this way, Barastoc shares those aims and objectives, and because of Barastoc’s exclusive relationship with KER, these resources are available to the Australian horse industry.
