Your age – Fav food’ and or what food you do not like: I am Charlee, and my favourite foods would probably be any sort of pasta, garlic bread, chocolate and some of my mum’s made up dinner dishes. The major food that I do not like, is any type of sea food.
What makes you really happy: My favourite thing to do when I am not riding is either just going out to spend time with and care for my horse, going camping or going on a family holiday to either Fraser Island or a new place that I have never been to. I also really enjoy just spending time with and playing with my other pets like my dogs and cats.
What colour is your horse- height – age – level My major horse Flirty is 13 years old and chestnut, she is 17hh and we have been competing up to 1.15m showjumping and training up to 1.35m. One of my other horses Chester is also chestnut but is a colt and is still growing but is currently 16.2hh-16.3hh, he is 3 years old rising 4 at the end of the year, and is currently being trained and broken in. My last horse Akubra is dark bay/brown, and he is 17hh and is an 11 year old, however we do not have a level yet because he has only just come to us. I have had Flirty since she was born as we bred her, however, she was my dad’s horse until a few years ago. I have also had my young colt Chester since he was born, and I have only had Akubra since November 2020.
How long have you been riding? . I have been riding since I was born. Although when I was a little baby I couldn’t ride on my own or do anything, I was still sitting on the front of my mum and dad’s saddles since I was a newborn, and cantered on their big warmbloods with them. I was always sitting on and having small rides of my parents’ horses, but I got my own first pony when I was a few years old.
What you love most about your horse? The thing I love most about my horse Flirty is the connection and strong bond that we share with each other. Me and Flirty trust each other and we are best friends. I always know that no matter what happens, Flirty and I will always love each other, and I just love and cherish our amazing connection we share with each other. I know that I can always trust Flirty to look after me while I’m riding her as well as when I am not, and Flirty is just simply my best friend.
What do you love most about horses? One of the things I love most about horses are how you can create such a strong bond and trust for each other, and the fact that they are such big animals, but are so kind and would never intentionally hurt you.
If you had to pick just one, what is your favourite discipline? My favorite discipline is definitely showjumping.
Who is your biggest supporter? My biggest supporters are my mum, my dad, my sister Jenna, and my two brothers Oliver (Ollie) and Caleb.
Do you have an idol in the Equine world? My two idols in the equine world are Daniel Deusser and Edwina Tops-Alexander.
If you could meet one famous person in the world, who would it be? If I could meet one famous person in the world, it would probably be Edwina Tops-Alexander or Daniel Deusser, who are both professional international showjumpers.
Tell us what your goals are for the future My goal for the future is to become a professional show jumper and compete internationally around different showjumping circuits in other countries.
What do you hope to do when you grow up? When I grow up, one of my dreams is to become a professional grand prix showjumper and compete internationally, and job-wise I hope that I can do something in the medical area. I am not yet sure what exact job I want to do, but I know that I would like to be possibly a paramedic or something else in the medical area. My goals for the future are to jump and compete grand prix, train my future horses to be superstars and hopefully one day compete grand prix overseas.

Your age – Fav food’ and or what food you do not like: I’m 15 turning 16 and my favourite food is chicken parmigiana. Things that make me really happy are family, friends, and sport. My favourite thing to do when I’m not riding is to play soccer.
What colour is your horse- height – age – level My horse Ash is 17.1hh, rising 11, B grade showjumping, level 3 dressage and level 3 eventing. Ash is competing up to 115cm in showjumping, training up to 125cm, and 100cm in eventing. My horse Colin is 15.3hh, rising 7, D grade showjumping, level 3 dressage and level 4 eventing. Colin is competing up to 85cm in showjumping. I have been riding Ash for 2 years now and have been riding colin for two years now. However, I have had Colin for 6, almost 7 years now, since he was born.
How long have you been riding? I have been riding since I was 18months old when dad used to hold me on the front of his saddle. However I have been properly riding on my own since I was two, and started competing when I was 4 years old, so I have been riding my whole life.
What you love most about your horse? The thing I love most about Ash is how much he loves his job; the fact that when I’m riding him he always has his ears forward, the way that he comes to me when I stand at his gate with a halter, and the way that he tries his heart out for me at everything we do. The thing I love most about Colin is how caring he is and how well he reads emotions. One time I was quite upset and when I went to see Colin he put his head in my arms against my chest, and we stood there together for almost 10 minutes. When I went to leave he followed me around the entire paddock not wanting me to leave. He can always sense when I am feeling upset or tense, and always manages to make me feel better.
What do you love most about horses? The thing I love most about horses is that they are not only our teammates but also our friends and our family. I also love that they provide an escape for us from the rest of the world and the worries of life.
If you had to pick just one, what is your favourite discipline? I don’t know if I could pick one but my favourite disciplines are showjumping and dressage.
Who is your biggest supporter? My biggest supporters are definitely my Mum and Dad. They support all of my goals and dreams as if they’re their own, take me to all of my competitions and lessons, and always lend me a hand if I need it. They do so much for me and I appreciate and love them more than anything. My other biggest supporters include Nan, Grandad, Jeanette Graham, Cat Smith, Lisa Goodin, my sponsors Barastoc, and my friends. I am so so grateful for every single one of them.
Do you have an idol in the Equine world My idols in the equine world are: Charlotte Dujardin, Edward Gal, Edwina Tops-alexander, Marcus Ehning and Daniel Duesser.
If you could meet one famous person in the world, who would it be? Charlotte Dujardin so I could ask her for advice, training tips, how she got to where she is, her motto in life, her life story, dearest horses, favourite dressage (breeding) lines, and the most important advice that she has received or that has been given to her.
Tell us what your goals are for the future My goals for the future are to become a doctor or vet, and make it to Grand Prix Dressage.
What do you hope to do when you grow up? When I grow up I hope to become an anesthetist or a vet.
