My name is Amelie Taylor-Schofield and my discipline is equestrian vaulting. Equestrian vaulting is one of the five FEI disciplines and is probably best described as gymnastics on horseback. My vaulting horses are Haste, an 11yo Thoroughbred x Clydesdale who previously competed in dressage and showjumping and started his vaulting training at the end of 2024 and won his first CVI 1* event in February 2025, and SR Nightfire (or “Nibbles”) a 7yo warmblood who was bred to be a dressage horse and started his vaulting training in March 2025 and will compete in his first CVI in March 2026. I also have a 4yo Thoroughbred X Clydesdale we call Santiago who I plan to vault on in the future however in vaulting our horses do not compete until they are 7yo. My goals for 2026 include obtaining a qualifying score for the 2027 FEI Vaulting World Championships for Young Vaulters and Juniors, travelling to Europe (Netherlands and Belgium) to gain experience competing at international CVI’s and to continue developing my vaulting horses.
