What do you love most about your horse? Astro is a horse of a life time. I wake up every morning thinking about him and always look forward to his welcoming whinny as I approach his paddock. Astro is just something that means so much to me as we share so many adventures together. Although Astro is still relatively new to me, my family has owned him since 2015. It makes me proud that we was able to give him a life after racing as he has opened up so many opportunities for me, and developed me into a confident young rider and competitor. Astro is the most genuine horse with the sweetest soul and purest heart, he truly has the world before him. He has got it all! kind temperament, strength and courage along with impeccable manners and natural ability, he’s a true superstar that never fails to make me laugh with his bubbly personality.
Funny habits, how does your horse make you smile? Astro's jealousy. Whether i'll be preparing feeds or training another horse, he'll always be an eye shot away giving me a firm stare, moments before he does donuts and laps around his pasture.
What do you love most about horses? I love being assured you've always got a pal for life. there's never a dull moment with horses and theres always something fun and new to learn.
Do you have an idol in the Equine World? Mark Todd Watching Mark as I grew up, has definitely inspired me in many ways. i remember watching DVD's of him riding and I just can't get over the way he makes everything look so easy. He is there at these big competitions on some of the youngest horses in the field, and just make's it look effortless. I would love to be able to do that!
Who is your biggest supporter? My Family 110%! I would not be the person rider I am today without their love and support. My Family works so hard to support my dreams and riding. Describe your favourite horse memory? Definitely acquiring the reins of Astro boy from my sister, as well as living life in the moment and constantly improving my riding journey, makes me so proud.
What are your ambitions or dreams with your current horses? In the near future, I would love to continuously learn new thing and move up the heights in showjumping with Astro. But my 'future future' goal would definitely be to turn my passion for riding into my full-time job in some capacity.
Where do you see yourself riding in 5 years I'd love to continue training, producing and competing horses through the ranks as the upcoming years unfold.
Why do you want to be part of the Barastoc Junior Squad? Astro and I would absolutely love to be apart of the Barastoc junior squad team! I want to help your business grow! I could promote your company through social media, friends, family, and shows. How do you think being a member of the Barastoc Junior Squad will help your riding Being apart of the Barastoc junior squad would benefit my riding enormously. Astro and I's minds would be rest assured knowing we can go out, train and compete, not only looking but also feeling our best, whilst being supported by our number 1 feeding brand! Which Barastoc Ambassador would you most like to meet Jamie Stichel
